Lucy Anderton
Lucy Anderton holds a MFA in Poetry from Warren Wilson College and a BA in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music. Her poems have appeared in AGNI Online , The Iowa Review, American Letters & Commentary, New York Quarterly, and Another Chicago Magazine amongst others. In 2005 she held the Emerging Writer's Teaching Position at Randolph-Macon Woman's College and served as the six-month artist-in-residence for the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Auvillar, France. Lucy tries to bring the aspects of writing and performance together in a not-too-ugly marriage. She has been involved for years in the organization of performance, spoken word, and visual/literary collaborative experiments. She represented Chicago at the National Poetry Slam in 2000, 2001 & 2002, she received the 2000 Gwendolyn Brooks Open Mic Award, and she was the Taos Poetry Circus Grand Slam Champion in 2003. She is finding her way through her first manuscript tentatively entitled Check the Number on my Collar. She is also a huge White Sox fan!Posted on December 25, 2005 7:57 AM
