Dismantling the Hills by Michael McGriff
Michael McGriff was born in Coos Bay, Oregon. He attended the University of Oregon and the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a Michener Fellow in Creative Writing. He received the 2005 Ruth Lilly Fellowship from Poetry magazine and was a Wallace Stegner fellow in poetry at Stanford University. His poems have appeared in Poetry, Northwest Review, Hayden's Ferry Review, Mid-American Review, The Canary, American Literary Review, and elsewhere. His chapbook, Choke, was published by Traprock Books in 2006, and his first full length collection, Dismantling the Hills, won the 2007 Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize and was published by the University of Pittsburgh Press.
