From the Fishouse

Evie Shockley reads a series of 17 31-word prose poems live at Bowdoin College, February 21, 2008. Some of the
poems are from her chapbook 31-words: prose poems, available through Belladonna Books. Six of the poems
in this series are "tiny tributes" to women writers who Shockley admires: HD, Gwendolyn Brooks, Phyllis Wheatley,
Gertrude Stein, Anne Spencer, and Harriet Mullen.
