Christian Barter
Christian Barter’s first collection of poetry, The Singers I Prefer, was published by CavanKerry Press in June, 2005, and was a finalist for the 2006 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize from The Nation and the Academy of American Poets for the most outstanding book of poems published in the United States in the previous year. A 2008-2009 Hodder Fellow in poetry at Princeton University, his poems have appeared in a number of select periodicals, including the Georgia Review, North American Review, and The American Scholar, and his work has been featured on Garrison Keillor’s The Writers Almanac and in Poets & Writers magazine. He is a trail crew supervisor at Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine, doing dry stone masonry, tree work and wild-land firefighting.Posted on October 7, 2005 5:53 AM
